Welcome to the Willow Pathway.  This learning pathway provides a practical curriculum focusing on the development of key, functional skills.  Communication skills, literacy and numeracy skills and daily living skills are the focus of the curriculum.

Within the Willow pathway, the curriculum content is delivered to provide a rich and purposeful content which highlights the bigger picture for the learning and enables learners to practice and embed learned skills functionally.  Optimum learning for pupils following the Willow pathway occurs when the learning opportunities are related to their own practical experiences. Some of our students will learn through structured play; some will learn more effectively through functional activities; whilst others will engage better with a topic-based approach.  Each of these approaches to learning will be simultaneously delivered alongside discrete input from specialist and therapeutic strategies to support our learners’ needs.

Please take a look at our pathway newsletter to see what has been happening in classes this term.
